Why Invest in an ADU (Additional Dwelling Units)

Unlock Your Property’s Hidden Potential

An additional dwelling unit, often called an ADU, is a separate living space added to an existing residential property. It's basically like having a mini-apartment right on your own property. ADUs can be either attached to the main house or detached, like a cozy backyard cottage or a converted garage.

They have their own entrance, kitchen, bathroom, and living area, so they can be used as a rental unit for tenants, a guest house, or even as a space for extended family members to live. ADUs are a popular way to create more housing options and make the most of available space without the need for major construction or buying a separate property.

Densification: meaning capitalizing on existing lands people own as well as the infrastructure for roads and services the city has already built is a logical approach to affordable housing.

There's a missed opportunity for housing affordability that we are not currently maximizing to the fullest. Our current Manufactured Additional Dwelling Units (MADUs) are one of the most impactful ways to fulfill this.
